Sproodle Sizes:

Mini, Moyen & Standard

One advantage of Sproodles is that they come in several sizes. At Old Mill Doodles, we raise Mini, Moyen, and Standard Sproodles by carefully pairing our dogs with Poodles of different sizes.

While the parents' size helps us estimate a puppy's adult weight, every puppy is an individual. The ranges below are estimates based on our experience with our dogs and previous litters, rather than a guarantee of adult size.

Mini Sproodles

Our Mini Sproodles are our smallest Sproodles and are a good choice for families who love the Sproodle personality but prefer a more compact dog.

Our smallest pairings typically produce puppies expected to mature around 20–30 pounds, although individual dogs may fall outside that range.

Moyen Sproodles

Moyen Sproodles fall between our Mini and Standard sizes and have become a popular choice for families looking for a medium-sized dog.

Our Moyen Sproodles generally mature around 35–45 pounds.

Their moderate size gives families much of the substance and activity of a larger dog in a somewhat smaller package.

Standard Sproodles

Our Standard Sproodles are the largest size we raise.

Adult females from our larger pairings are generally around 40–45 pounds, while males are often 50–55 pounds or larger. Our Moyen and standard sproodles would be considered “medium” size dogs.

As with all of our size estimates, genetics can surprise us. We use the parents and our experience with previous litters to give families the best estimate we can, but we can't guarantee a puppy's exact adult weight.

What Determines a Sproodle's Size?

A Sproodle is a cross between an English Springer Spaniel and a Poodle. The size of the Poodle used in the pairing strongly influences the puppies' expected size.

We also look at the size of both parents, previous puppies from the same lines when available, sex, and the growth patterns we've seen over many years of breeding.

That's why our estimates aren't based simply on a generic Sproodle size chart—they're based on the dogs actually behind each litter.

Which Sproodle Size Is Right for You?

Size is worth considering, but it shouldn't be the only reason you choose a puppy.

Your lifestyle, activity level, home, other pets, and the individual puppy's temperament are all important. A smaller Sproodle isn't necessarily a quieter Sproodle, and a larger puppy may be an excellent match for a more relaxed household.

After 20 years of raising Sproodles, we've learned that finding the right personality for a family is every bit as important as finding the right size.
